"The shaykh warns the seeker against two diseases: being overly concerned with the sins of others, and being distracted by public opinion. He who looks at creation with the eye of blame will never see the Creator with the eye of grace. The remedy is to return to oneself, correct one's own state, and leave the hidden matters of people to Allah, the Knower of secrets."
