Players control simply "The Prince" (voiced by Nolan North, before his Uncharted fame) and a new heroine, Elika. The core loop is unique: You cannot die. When you miss a jump, Elika catches you and teleports you back to the last solid ground. This removed frustration entirely, turning the game into a zen-like rhythm of traversal and light puzzle-solving. The plot revolves around the Tree of Life . The Prince, a wanderer lost in a sandstorm, inadvertently aids the villainous Ahriman (a god of darkness) in breaking free from his prison.
