Align the colored wire (usually Pin 1 indicator on the clip) with the dot on the BIOS chip. Gently clamp. Connect the clip’s ribbon cable to the CH341’s 8-pin header (ensure pin 1 matches).

Locate the 8-pin BIOS chip on the motherboard. Note the model number (e.g., Winbond 25Q64FVSIG).
Set your multimeter to DC volts. Probe between VCC and GND on the clip. Must read 3.3V. Probe MOSI and GND – should also be 3.3V. If 5V, do not proceed.
